 High Plans Sportsman Club focuses its efforts on acquiring private land that offers above average
hunting and fishing with easy access for the whole family.
With an increasing number of people moving from crowded coasts to the West and the Midwest,
 more and more public land has become overcrowded, over hunted and over fished.
 We provide all of the big game, small game, waterfowl, upland bird, fishing and camping all members of the family can enjoy.

Many of the great properties we lease contain several types of big game hunting.
 Don't be surprised if you find that your favorite elk or deer property is also a great place to hunt turkey, bear, or coyote. 
These hunting areas are spacious and offer a base camp or a place to camp.
 Our lease consist of canyons and draws populated with brush pine and scrub oak, to rolling hills,
 cropland, hay fields, and sage country which have an abundant food supply.

Our Colorado east plains property offers antelope and plains deer hunting is vast and spread across many game units. 
Although Colorado is all draw for deer and antelope licenses, this limits the number of hunters and licenses and increases
 the size and quality of the herds on the property. In several states you will be assured a better than average chance
 to hunt with a license you can purchase.  We also offer archery, muzzle loading, and rifle hunting in our club.

High Plains Sportsman Club caters directly to the upland game bird, waterfowl, and turkey hunters. 
With thousands and thousands of acres leased, upland bird hunting begins with dove hunting each year on September 1st.  The habitat offers absolute dynamite dove hunting where we have small ponds, fields and miles of fence lines. 
We also have excellent pheasant hunting in Nebraska.  We hunt from September to February for dove, duck, goose, and pheasant.
 Then in April we begin spring turkey hunting.

Waterfowl hunting is tremendous with High Plains Sportsman Club.  We are so diverse in what we offer that it gives our members an advantage over other hunters.  We have property where the birds are on several stretches of the North Platte River in Nebraska for ducks and geese.  These rivers offer outstanding waterfowl hunting.  Many of our properties in the Windsor/Greeley area produce some of the most outstanding waterfowl decoy hunting for greater Canadian geese offered anywhere.  We also have many small ponds for duck hunting.  Even on our goose properties you will find excellent duck hunting, as occasional flights of ducks will feed in the fields. 

As a member of High Plains Sportsman Club a great deal of productive coyote hunting can be pursued in the months
to stay sharp and have fun.  There are plenty of prairie dogs and coyotes roaming the properties for our hunters , especially on the eastern plains of Colorado, so don't put the guns away just yet!  High Plains offers prairie dog hunting on several ranches in both Colorado and Wyoming.  As you can see, our eastern plains ranches and larger properties offer a variety of hunting throughout the year.  Stay sharp, have fun, and plan to hunt with High Plains Sportsman Club now.

We also have a stocking program to stock thousands of catfish in many ponds and lakes to swim side-by-side with other game fish.  The channel cat, which we stock, is pound for pound one of the fightingest fish in the fresh water.  This fish is often caught on artificial lures and flies.  On a good day, you can expect to catch more of them than other well-known fish.  Catfish are excellent table fare whether broiled, baked, or blackened (fried).  We stock catfish to provide fishing for children, handicapped people and other that have limited mobility.  They are easy to catch from the shore and require no sophisticated equipment.

We begin taking big game reservations on a predetermined and publicized date in late summer after the
Division of Wildlife big game licenses have been mailed to our hunters which is August 1st.
 We take turkey and all other reservations except waterfowl two weeks in advanced of going. 
We take waterfowl reservations three days in advance and we take reservation for the weekend on Wednesday for waterfowl. 
Due to the sometimes-severe weather changes in Colorado, is why we take waterfowl reservations 3 days in advance.

So if you are interested in someone who will offer you deer, elk, bear, duck, goose, turkey, quail, dove, pheasant, antelope, fishing and camping you have just found them.  Our membership is a family membership, which includes the immediate family only.  So husband, wife and their children under 18 years old becomes a member under on affordable price.  We will give you four guest passes for small game hunting.  Turkey is considered big game.  We don't have special rules for your family.  They can hunt deer and turkey in several states. 

You must buy all licenses that you must have to legally hunt, including conservation and habitat stamps, duck stamps for waterfowl hunting and your fishing licenses from the state that you will be hunting in. Click here to visit their websites.

All members are issued a detailed map book of all our properties with directions, what you can hunt on it, lock combinations,
and the outline of the property from a USGS map on the back.  This map book also contains our rules and regulations to help all members have an enjoyable time on the properties.  Our map book also has courtesy units in it, which are businesses that give our members a discount.  You may also obtain these maps on the Members Only part of our website, after we have obtained a password from you and it is entered into the system.  This map book helps you to get the right property for you.

We publish a newsletter (Plains Talk) communicating club activities, new properties, club-sponsored events, contest, outings and interesting bylines.  We also feature delicious fish and game recipes.  Some of these articles will appear on our website and some will only appear on the Members Only pages on the website. These articles are very informative for our members.

When we mail you your new map book we will include bumper stickers for you that will identify you on the ranches as a member of the club.  You will also be issued membership cards that will identify you in the field as a High Plains Sportsman Club member.
 Also a password letter for the website.


We have monthly luncheons and these dates are posted on the website for the date and location.
 All are welcome to come and we try to answer questions you may have and we eat and enjoy each others company.
